The Retrograde - Official Trailer
This is our trailer for The Retrograde. Since release we have had some feedback and we have minor things to change such as the cinematic boom at the beginning which is too loud and distorted.
Here is the first version of our trailer:

Final Poster Design.
Here are the final designs for out trailer poster. We made both a portrait and a landscape version as they could suit different purposes e.g. landscape could be used for billboard.

Directors of our chosen genre.
Alfred Hitchcock: Arguably, the most famous thriller director. Hitchcock is the director of classics such as "Psycho" and "Vertigo". Often nicknamed "The Master of Suspense", he pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres. Renowned as England's best director.
Christopher Nolan: Best known for his cerebral, often nonlinear story-telling, acclaimed writer-director Christopher Nolan was born on July 30, 1970 in London, England. Over the course of 15 years of film-making, Nolan has gone from low-budget independent films to working on some of the biggest blockbusters ever made. Nolan probably had the biggest influence on our trailer, as we took inspiration of his films "The Dark Knight" and "Inception"
Clint Eastwood: We were inspired by the trailer for "American Sniper" and we used a lot of aspects that were used in that trailer in ours. We liked the way that the trailer started with a hook that would be revisited later on, but not resolved. Clint is also famous for many other action films and westerns.

Audience Feedback.
Audience Feedback
We showed our first draft to the other media groups.
This gave us an opportunity to see what our target audience did and did not like.
Our main criticisms were:
-Do not like the font
-Story line is confusing
We have taken both of these things into consideration and discussed how we can make them better so that the audience will not pick them our again the next time we show it.
Steps we will take to improve the font:
- We will research other action thriller film trailers and look at the types of font they have used.
- We will decide on a font that we like the look of and try and find similar ones.
- Finally, we will make a survey and send it to our audience that we showed to to before, of our top 5 fonts and chose the one that gets to most votes. (It is important to use the same audiences as we cannot ask someone who has not seen our trailer as they will not know what it is meant to look and feel like).
Steps we will take to make the story line less confusing:
After discussion within our group, we decided that the main reason that the audience found our trailer confusing was because it was not completely finished yet. We believe that when we have finished the whole thing, it will all make sense. (We will make sure of this when we have finished).
Our main positives were:
-Good shots
-Good music that fits well
We are happy with the positive feedback that we got as we believe that the shots are all good as we took time and effort to make them work.
We also are glad that the audience like the music as we believe that it is one of the main features of the trailer and it brings it all together. If we had to change the music this would change our whole trailer as the cuts etc are in time with the music.

Credits.
Credits
As we have started the editing for our trailer we figured we need to research our inspirations to see where the credits come on during a trailer.
First we researched TAKEN 3. We noticed that the first credits we see is "This January".
The next thing we see is "20th Century Fox Presents"
Looking at these fonts we searched for something similar and this is what we found:
It has a rusty and dirty look to it but after our first screening the feedback we got stated that they didn't like it.
So we looked at our other inspiration "LUCY":
This font is simplistic, futuristic and works perfectly in an action film because of its sharp edges. We found something similar:
We asked a few people what they think of this new font and everyone said it looked much better.
Social Media.
SOCIAL MEDIA
We currently have an Instagram and FaceBook page for our group. On these we have been updating the audience on the progress of our project and shown a few behind the scenes shots. This is a good way to engage our audience.
